  1. Will you accept another school’s entrance exam?
    Athena will accept Workeys examination results from other institutions that have been completed within the last 3 years. Prospective students must present valid photo id with examination results.
  2. How many times can I take your entrance exam?
    You may retake any portion of the exam two times. The retake fee is $15 per section.
  3. Will my credits transfer from your school to another school?
    It is up to the receiving institution to determine if credits are transferable.
  4. I already have my immunizations. Will you accept a copy?
    Yes, as long as they are current.
  5. How recent do my immunizations have to be?
    TB and Physical  must be within one year. All other immunizations must be up to date as needed. You may visit your primary care physician for your drug screen, physical, and immunizations. Prospective students must complete and pass a drug screen within 90 days of the start date.
  6. Can I get my background check in another state other than Ohio?
    No. It must be administered in Ohio.
  7. Are you accredited?
    Yes. Athena Career Academy is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. It is also approved by the US Department of Education. The school is registered with the Ohio Board of Colleges and Schools and operates under the authority of the Ohio Board of Nursing and Ohio Department of Health.
  8. Does Athena offer Financial Aid?
    Yes. Athena Career Academy is proud to announce Title IV Financial Aid is available for our day and evening Practical Nursing classes, for those who qualify. We will assist each student throughout the Financial Aid process. Please call (419) 472-1150 to schedule your personal Financial Aid appointment.
  9. Where do I get fitted for my uniforms?
    The uniform fittings are done during the orientation session at Athena Career Academy.

Workkeys Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When are the exams typically offered?
    Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm and Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
  2. Do you take walk-ins?
    No, please schedule an appointment.
  3. When will I know my results?
    You will receive your results at the completion of the exam for online tests. It can take 3 to 4 weeks for paper and pencil tests.
  4. What content will be tested?
    Reading for Information, Locating Information, and Mathematics.
  5. How long are the test scores valid?
    Workkeys results are good for a lifetime at Athena. Check with other institutions for their policies.
  6. Do you accept the Workkeys scores from other schools?
    Athena will accept Workeys examination results from other institutions that have been completed within the last 3 years. Prospective students must present valid photo id with examination results.
  7. What are the requirements to take the test?
    You must attend an Admissions Informational Session, pay $45 for the exam, and schedule an appointment. Upon arrival on test day, you must provide a valid picture id and social security card.
  8. Does the school have study guides?
    Yes, the practice tests are $5.00 each and the prep packages are $7.50 for each section.
  9. How long does the test last?
    Approximately 55 minutes for each section. Allow yourself about 3 hours for testing.
  10. Can you use a calculator?
    Yes. Students are responsible for bringing their own calculator.
  11. If you only fail one section, do you have to take all three sections again?
    No, only the section you did not pass. The cost is $15 each section.
  12. Is there a waiting period if I do not pass the Workkeys?
    Yes, you must wait a minimum of 3 weeks.
  13. How many times can I take a test?
    You can take any section a maximum of 3 times. There is a one-year waiting period if you do not pass by the third try.
  14. How much does the test cost?
    $45 non-refundable
  15. Do you take cash, credit, and checks?
    We accept Cash or Credit only. NO CHECKS
  16. What happens after I pass?
    You must make an appointment to see Financial Aid.
