  1. Will my credits transfer from your school to another school?
    It is up to the receiving institution to determine if credits are transferable.
  2. I already have my immunizations. Will you accept a copy?
    Yes, as long as they are current.
  3. How recent do my immunizations have to be?
    TB and Physical  must be within one year. All other immunizations must be up to date as needed. You may visit your primary care physician for your drug screen, physical, and immunizations. Prospective students must complete and pass a drug screen within 90 days proir to the start date. The background check must be completed within 90 days prior to the start date.
  4. Can I get my background check in another state other than Ohio?
    No. It must be administered in Ohio.
  5. Are you accredited?
    Yes. Athena Career Academy is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. It is also approved by the US Department of Education. The school is registered with the Ohio Board of Colleges and Schools and operates under the authority of the Ohio Board of Nursing and Ohio Department of Health.
  6. Does Athena offer Financial Aid?
    Yes. Athena Career Academy is proud to announce Title IV Financial Aid is available for our day and evening Practical Nursing and Clinical Medical Assistant Programs, for those who qualify. We will assist each student throughout the Financial Aid process. Please call (419) 472-1150 to schedule your personal Financial Aid appointment.
  7. Where do I get fitted for my uniforms?
    The uniform fittings are done during the orientation session at Athena Career Academy.

Teas Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When are the exams offered?
    Wednesdays- 4:00pm-8:00 pm
    Fridays- 10:00am-1:00pm
  2. How much is the exam?
    The TEAS is $5. We accept cash, credit or money order. NO CHECKS.
  3. Do you take walk-ins?
    No, please call to schedule an appointment.
  4. When will I know my results?
    Immediately after completion.
  5. What content will be tested?
    High School equivalent of Science, Reading, Math, and English.
  6. What are the requirements to take the exam?
    You must attend an Informational Session, have a valid photo ID and schedule an appointment to take the exam and submit $45 payment for the exam.
  7. Do you accept TEAS results from other schools?
    Yes. We accept TEAS results within the last three years from the start date of the program for which the student is enrolling. The student must login to their ATI account and have the results sent to our school. HARD COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
  8. How long is the exam?
    209 minutes. Plan to be at the school for about 4 – 4 ½ hours.
  9. What is the TEAS passing score required by your school?
    A minimum passing score of “Basic” is needed with an “Adjusted Individual Total Score” of 41.3% or greater.
  10. If I fail one section, do I have to take all four sections?
    If you do not meet the TEAS required passing score, you must retake the exam in its entirety and submit another $45 fee for the exam.
  11. What happens after I pass?
    You will meet with Financial Aid (schedule appointment is strongly recommended). After your financial aid has been packaged, you will meet with your admissions agent to sign your enrollment agreement. You will purchase your drug screen for $25 at the time you sign your enrollment agreement. You will receive instructions about the background check and drug screen at that time.
  12. What is Certified Profile?
    Certified Profile is an online document manager which will monitor your enrollment documents so you have access to them 24/7. An admissions agent will assist you with the Certified Profile registration process at the same time you purchase your drug screen. There is no charge for the Certified Profile account.
